I am the son of Demetrius Calip, 1989 NCAA Champion- University of Michigan; Former professional NBA player of the Lakers and Charlotte Hornets. I've been around this game all of my life, both collegiate and professional. I've been fortunate to experience and achieve great things in my high school career (i.e., All CIF, All City, Cal Hi Sport Player of the Week, NIke Elite 100, Pangos All American, and NBPA Camp). I ranked #93 on the 24/7 list in my sophomore year. I am looking for a program that will continue to develop me and bring out more of my talent. I know there is so much more for me to learn and I want to use my talent to add to the team's success.
I feel I will be a great addition to your program as I am not just a great shooter, but i also have a high IQ in this game and can get in the lane and create for myself and/or my teammate. I have always played in a system in high school, so I believe in passing the ball. In the past two years I have concentrated on my defense and I can say that this year I became a lock down defender. I've learned to use my lengthy arms to my advantage when guarding my opponent.
