Track is something that I want to do for the rest of my life. I first joined track to become stronger, but later realized I could do so much more with my ability. I easily adapted to whatever event my coach put me in, making me a reliable and useful athlete for my team. I was willing to try an event that nobody wanted to do due to the fact it was "difficult", but I practiced and helped others with the drills when my field coach left the team.
I am also a ballroom dancer, and this sport has made me much more aware of my body. After several months of dancing, my personal record increased by almost a whole foot. I will always try to do things outside practice to make me a better runner and jumper.
I am also in a new program called Academy of Integrated Arts and Technology (A.I.A.T), where gifted and twice-exceptional students are in classes with 10-25 students and 3 teachers per class. We are also given classes in social emotional learning, and project based learning instead of regular standardized tests. Being in this program for almost 4 years has taught me to be a better student and athlete.
