My name is Jace Mobley and I am working toward getting an accounting degree while playing the sport I love most, basketball. There are many amazing candidates for sports programs, but I am different from most because of my perseverance and hard working attitude. The instance that comes to mind when I think about a setback I overcame was when I fractured my wrist as a freshman during basketball season, four days after I had been selected to play on varsity. I could have sulked and continued to watch my friends play without me with I was stuck in a cast for the season, but I took it as an opportunity to prove myself again and work on other aspects of my game such as getting better with my offhand and increasing my speed. I look at setbacks as challenges in athletic and academic settings and use them as a way to improve myself and help my teammates with their challenges as well. I will continue being the hardest worker in any setting and look forward to using my perseverance in future athletic and academic endeavors.
