Thomas has chosen Xavier High School in Middletown, CT to continue his journey to being a high honors student athlete representing his God, his family, his school, his team, and himself. Many feel that he will someday be a great asset to his God, his family, his school, his peers, and his country. Xavier is a excellent and one of the top Catholic College Prep High schools in the New England area. We feel that Xavier has produce thousands of top student/athletes who have excelled on and off the court. We also feel that Xavier will prepare Thomas for any prep school or Division 1 College as a student/athlete. Thomas has had a great freshman year at Xavier. He's been in the newspaper twice representing his school for his academics being an High Honors student with a 4.05 GPA. He's also had a great season as the starting point guard JV Basketball team, and playing backup point guard on the Varsity Basketball Team at Xavier High School. We would like to start visiting top Prep Schools or Division 1 Colleges around the country that are interested in him first as a young man, then as a student athlete. Thomas is an excellent basketball player, and student. He continues to excel at a rapid rate on the basketball court, and with his academics. His knowledge, wisdom, discipline, and work ethics of the game of basketball is well above average. He continues to train before/after school when able. But what most people don’t know about him, is that he’s more concerned about his salvation & his education more than basketball or anything else. He would not train or play basketball until he is satisfied with GPA, and that is high honors. He only goes to church, to school, plays basketball and video games. We, his parents, are more concerned about his character, and his education. We feel that his character, academics, and basketball skills will be able to get him a good college education thru scholarships someday. We also believe that through his God & academics he will be able to succeed in this game called life. We hope that your school, camp, or program will consider him to be one of your student/athlete in the near future. We would like to apply for admission before the scholarships, grants, sponsorships, and invite monies run out. Here are some of his accomplishments on the court, and in the class room. Please feel free to contact me (his father) by mail, phone,or email if you feel Thomas would grow into a respectable young man, and be a good fit for your academic/basketball program at your school. Also pray for his protection, his guidance, and his transition into manhood. Thank you for your time and effort in assisting us with this matter.
2007 - He started playing organized basketball at the Granby, CT YMCA where he led his 4th grade team to the championship.
2007-2008 As a 4th grader, he made the Bloomfield, CT Travel 6th grade team. He wasn’t use to the pressure of that level of basketball at the beginning of the season, but he managed to average 22 points, and get the Most Valuable Player for the 6th grade team. He also played up on the 7th grade team averaging 12 points by the end of the season. Both teams made it to the championship, but loss. His coach Dawn Giddens ph. 860-706-3758 worked with him on his confidence by playing him with older kids, and giving him the green light to shoot the ball when open. He developed nicely into a shooter.
2008 - He trained really hard that summer with his father. He worked on his conditioning, ball handling, defensive skills, and shooting. He was then invited to go with Coach Mike Hardwick ph. 860-680-7386 to the Five Star Basketball Camp at Camp Wayne, PA. He did really well at the 5star camp by receiving top medals. He was named the MVP of the All Star Game, received Best Stations Award, and his three on three skills team took 1st place. He received numerous praises from the coaches at this camp, citing his knowledge of the game at his age, his defensive skills, and how coachable he is.
2008-2009 Played for the Bloomfield Travel 6th , 7th, and 8th grade teams as a 5th grader. He averaged 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists for 6th grade, and 17 points for 7th grade. Again they lost in the championship games where he was named the MVP of his team. Thanks to Coach Dawn Giddens ph. 860-706-3758 again for now developing Thomas into an all-around premier guard. His ability to run the offense and control the tempo and flow of the game demonstrates his ability to play the point guard. He has displayed an uncanny ability to get to the hoop and score as well as the ability to shoot the three pointer at a high accuracy. He’s also one of the top man to man defensive players in the league.
2009 - He started to play for the CT Rough Riders 11u 5th grade team, and the CT Basketball Club 12u 6th grade team for his 1st year in AAU Basketball. He averaged 22 points for both teams, and learned when to take over the game. He also continued to ask his coaches could he guard the best man on the opponents team. Thanks to Coach Mike Hardwick ph. 860-680-7386 of the CT Rough Riders he was apart of the 2009 National AAU Classic Championship Team. Thanks to Coach Reggie Hatchett ph. 860-899-5490 of the CT Basketball Club who allowed him to develop as a catch & shoot specialist while his team finished 8th in the 2009 National AAU Tournament in Hampton, VA. Also see Thomas Jackson III 2009-2010 Season
2009 - He was invited to the National Adidas Junior Phenom Basketball Camp in San Diego, CA where he dominated the guards offensively, and defensively. The guards were unable to bring the ball up the court on him. Then he dominated them with his offensive skills. The coaches, referees, and parents were following his games when he played. He made the All-Defense Team, and the Alternate All-Star Team. All were surprised that he was not selected to play in the All-Star Game when he clearly dominated every game offensively and defensively. According to the rankings of Hoop Scoop, he’s ranked #36 overall, and #9 as a power forward. You will see that he’s far from a power-forward in the video. He could play the 1 or 2 guard very well, and is more than willing to do what it takes to make the team better. http://jjmarcus.sportsblognet.com/2009/08/25/2009-national-adidas-jr-phenom-camp/
2009 - He attended Camp Wayne Five Star Basketball Camp again where he was the only 5th grader to be moved up to play with the upper division 9th graders. He made the All-star team.
2009-2010 - He was the only 6th grader to make Classical Magnet School 8th grade team. His coaches talked with him about how important it is for him to be a leader (example) to others now. They said that they were more impressed with his academics (high honors), and his character than basketball. As a 6th grader on the school 6th & 8th grade teams, he was to advanced in skills for his teammates, and tried to tone his game down to even help his teammates keep up & accept him. He averaged 27 points, 6 assists, 6 steals, and 4 rebounds on the 8th grade team, and his highest was 39 points in a one point loss. He played against, and played excellent defense on some of the top 8th grade talent in the Hartford, CT area. He’s taught to do what it takes the right way to win the game. He remained humbled, not complaining while going through a 4-4 season. Thanks to 8th grade Coach Jeff Henry ph.860-231-8470 & 6th grade Coach Greenfield ph. 860-833-5019 for helping to develop Thomas into an all-around premier guard on their teams. His hard work on the court, his character, and his academics have become well notice by coaches, and peers around the country.
2009-2010 - He also played for the Bloomfield 6th & 7th grade teams. As a 6th grader he even played for the 8th grade team at times. His talent, and knowledge of the game was more advance than almost all of the players. His training & conditioning is outstanding, and he would play three straight games with no problems sometimes. He played against stack teams all season who designed defenses to stop him (3+2 defense, box & 1 defenses, 2-2-1 trap defenses, 1-2-2 defenses, etc.). He endured this season with flying colors, and even ended the season with a bang scoring 24 points in the second half of the 6th grade playoff game. His team lost, but he broke the 2-2-1 press of the championship team, and had the crowd saying he’s an amazing unbelievable player. He was only allowed to play with one team in the playoffs. This team had the best chance to win a championship. Thanks to Coach Dawn Giddens ph.860-706-3758 again for continuing to develop Thomas into an all-around premier guard. He learned when to take over, how to closeout games, clock management, who’s in foul trouble on both teams, how to recognize and beat various defenses, etc.
2010 - He continues to get up at 5am before school to train/workout mon-thurs, rest on fri, and play on the weekends. He knows that he has two more years to be ready to play at the high school basketball level, and that he needs to be quicker & stronger. He plays with a lot of high school players now in the area. His knowledge, and court awareness of the game is there already there. He’s a very mature player for his age. He doesn’t make many mistakes or force plays. He’s been doing very well with his Adidas CT Elite 12u AAU team under Coach Mike Hardwick ph.860-680-7386. Thanks to Coach Mike Hardwick, Thomas continues to develop as a scoring play maker one & two guard. Also playing with CT Basketball Club 13u AAU team under Coach Reggie Hatchette ph.860-899-5490 when available. Thanks to Coach Reggie Hatchett, who allows Thomas to continue to develop as a catch & shoot specialist as the two guard. He has the green light to shoot/score when possible to open the game up for the rest of the team to attack. He did well at the Top 75 Elite Basketball Camp, he also did well at the National Jr. All-American in Atlanta, GA, and has been invited to attend a few other top camps in the country. He’s played against the top 6th-8th graders, the top AAU teams in the country, and earned the name Thomas“Automatic” Jackson from one of the writer’s at the Atlantic City Showcase Tournament. He has write-ups on him at every tourney, and camp that he’s been in thus far this year concerning his offensive and defensive skills. He continues to stay humble, not wanting his family or peers to know his basketball or academic accomplishments on/off the floor. He just wants to play the game, learn from it, and leave it all on the court. His instincts and knowledge of the game of basketball continues to improve in every game or camp. Top AAU teams, and Prep Schools are trying to recruit him at every tournament or camp now because of his skills, academics, and character.
2011– presently he's Strengthening & Conditioning with Coach Kelvin Moore atTransformed Health & Fitness Ministries LLC ph. 860-250-9314.
2011-2012 - He's been made the captain of his 8th grade school basketball team at Classical Magnet School under new Coach who has Thomas playing the 2 guard for scoring purposes on the wing.
