Hello coaches. My name is Christian Barksdale. I was ranked #15 in the state according to preseason rankings. I am a starting guard for the Appoquinimink Jaguars High School Basketball team. I am a very poised ball handler with a high basketball IQ. I am an inspiring team player with great basketball instincts and skills. I am a great passer who sees the entire court. I play great defense as well as score consistently on all three levels on the floor. I can rebound really well against bigger players.
I am 3-star recruit on thenational radar.com, Top Performer at the 2022 Northeast Basketball College Prospect Combine Showcase, Top Prospect at the 2022 Pennsylvania All-American High School Basketball Showcase and was invited to the 2023 Summer Invitational List of Invited Players. I work extremely hard at my craft, during practice and on-and-off the court.
A few of my goals are to earn a college degree, play on a college basketball team where I can improve as a player and teammate and win a National Championship with my college basketball team.
I believe in charity and volunteer work. My parents have raised me to work hard academically and appreciate the things that I have. I have consistently been on the honor roll for several years since elementary school leading into high school. I was able to earn a 4.0 gpa in the first marking period of my senior year.
I am confident in my talents and look forward to continue to grow and become more skillful. I’ve been playing basketball since 3rd grade. I have two older brothers who also played basketball and other sports. I have always been able to play with older players.
During all of the years that I have played basketball, I have been fortunate to win countless championships, including the 2021 AAU East Coast Nationals 17U D1 World Championship in Orlando, Florida with SMM (Strong Mature Minds).
Although my primary positions are point guard and shooting guard, I have played at several positions at times, from 1-4, when needed for my high school and AAU team. I play smart, aggressive and instinctively. I give off great energy and will take the shot to give my team the victory. I encourage everyone around me and give positive advice to players who may not see a lot of playing time. Overall, I am a smart student of the game, an encouraging teammate and a great leader.
