My collegiate aspiration is to compete at a mid-to-high tier Division I men's basketball program. Educationally, I take my academic career just as seriously, so the type of program that would most interest me would be one with not only a strong history in winning and producing top athletes, but also a coach who considers their athletes' future after basketball. I have possible interests in business/finance, sports management, kinesiology, and law, but I'm undecided as to which one.
I am a good candidate because a strong work ethic has been instilled in me. Both of my parents were student-athletes and competed at high levels. My mother is an educator, so the emphasis of being a "student first" has been ingrained in me since I was a young athlete. Many athletes make it to college, but don't necessarily complete it. Completing college is not a question for me, even if I became a professional athlete prior to graduation, finishing my degree(s) would still be a priority.
I don't know about other recruits. But, I work hard, have a vision for myself, seek support from my family to help me accomplish them, for example getting the appropriate training and joining groups like NCSA. I study the game, and watch recordings with my mother to see what fundamentals and concepts I have to keep working on. I'm also family-oriented and that's an important characteristic when it comes to team sports. You have to play and work together to achieve milestones. I’m a very versatile and unselfish player as you will see in my film, and it doesn’t affect my ability to be assertive, impactful, and aggressive for myself. I like to think that I make my teammates better too.
