Keniel Velez '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Keniel Velez, I’m live in Florida.  I started playing basketball at the young age of 4 years old. In my childhood I learned the main fundamentals of basketball that later helped me improve my skills every day.  I like to be part of highly competitive  games and gives all my effort on the court, and always help my team to get the win. As a young athlete I have short and long term goals. 

The first goal I have in the short term is to graduate from high school with a GPA greater than 3.50 out of 4.0. Leading my team to the state championship my senior year. Another is to gain admission to a good university and play basketball at the college level, graduate from university, and after this, if I get the opportunity to play professionally, that would be the best.

Im a good candidate for any team because I am a person who is always willing to learn and I listen to my coaches. As a basketball player Im a good candidate because I can play both as a defender and shooter.  Im a good passer, distributes the ball well seeing the floor and anticipating when and where teammates will be open creating easy buckets. I put emphasis on making the right play through watching/learning the game.  And I understand how important it is to stay involved in a healthy and training environment, both physical and mental.
