Basketball has not been an easy road for me. I started out as a young kid playing soccer while all my peers were playing basketball since kindergarten. It wasn’t until 4th grade that I picked up a basketball and began to love the sport. By that time everyone I played with had abilities that I didn’t because I was still new to the sport. Every time I stepped on the court, they called me “raw.” Even as young as 6th grade. I had to fight my way up on every team I’ve played on. But that didn’t deter me. It made me work harder. I start my day in the gym at 5 am and end my day in the gym…usually capping the day off with 100 shots. People wrote me off because I had no left at 10. I’m still here and I have a left now. People wrote me off because I could dunk at 15, I’m still here and I can windmill. People are writing me off because I’m not committed, but again I’m still here and I’m determined to play college ball. I’m still underestimated and overlooked, but I’m confident in my goals. Most of the guys who played over me aren’t even playing anymore and if they are, they won’t play college ball. But me, I’m still going. I’m still fighting. I know I have a lot more to learn but I also have a lot of potential and untapped ability. I won’t stop until I reach that potential, no matter how long it takes. Thank you for your consideration.
