My name is Vladimir Marinov, but people call me Vladi. I am in the graduating class of 2023. I go to Education World Wide (EduWW), in Miami, Florida. I am a 5'11 Point Guard. I started to play basketball at the age of 10 in 4th grade, when my mom and I moved to live in Warsaw, Poland because of her job. My first team was Warsaw Basketball and I played there for a year and a half where I got the hang of basketball super fast and got an invite to play for the second best team in Warsaw: Polonia Warszawa where I played there for two more seasons, winning an MVP, most assists in a season, and my final season, most 3 pointers made. For my two seasons there we became runner ups and the season I won all three awards, we became national champions. Basketball has been my passion ever since. After that season my mom and I moved back to out country where I played for Buba Basketball for 3 years and in those 3 years my team and I achieved twice runner-ups. Apart from that I got an invite to be part of the National team of Bulgaria. My U16 season, in which I was grade 9, I averaged 24.5 ppg, 5.5 ast, 4 rpg, 2.5 stl, and shooting on a 49% in the paint and 39% behind the arch. After that year I got another invite to play for a pro team in Spain where I signed a contract for 2 years with that team, still making me eligible to play in the NCAA. I played one season over there averaging 16.8 ppg, 3.6 ast, 6.2 rpg, 2.8 stl. This was my hardest season in my career because the level of competition there was unexplainable, however I still managed. Post that season I had a choice to stay there and not play because of COVID or move back to Bulgaria. And what I did was move back because I wanted to play and show what i can do. So far I am into my season back in Bulgaria playing for my old team.
I have a lot of things to work on like my physique and getting stronger and faster. I am pretty fast right now but I know I can do even better. My speed helps create a very successful defender, finisher, and helps me read the game quicker. I take pride in my hard work-ethic and devotion to the game. I am dedicated in not only becoming a successful athlete, but a student as well. My GPA so far for my three years in high school is 3.55. In 9th grade a was struggling with school but over the next two years I improved a lot and for my junior year, my GPA so far is 3.8 for which I am happy to have improved.
I love being part of a team and working toward perfection together. I sincerely love the game of basketball. Creating a future through the game I love would be an unbelievable experience. I look forward to working hard and becoming the best player I can be. Outside of school I am involved with helping out people and taking extra courses for school and life lessons. In my free time I like to listen to music and work out in the gym, but I mostly like to draw and watch movies.
