David Odukwe '26 Recruiting Profile

“Playing basketball is one of my passions and I'm good at it” is what I repeat to myself every day when I am feeling down or need some self-encouragement. I am ready for more opportunities to learn new aspects about basketball, as well as development more skill. I am in pursuit of getting a scholarship to play in college or an opportunity for D1 Division. 

 I want to be the best player I can be. My goal on the court is to develop a working IQ of my sport. I want to be a player who makes moves on both sides the court. I want to learn to size the court up as well as guide my teammates and uplift them to be the best players they can be. Playing basketball has shown me that I want to be a leader and role model for my friends and family as well. I learned that all relationships should be about about team work, "we work better together"!

For college I am interested in attending a school that has a challenging and competitive athletic program. I have learned that I am more balanced within a rigorous athletic program. A challenge makes it fun for me and helps drive my academic motivation. As a scholar, I want to major in Software Engineering with the goal of becoming an entrepreneur developing and managing software. 

One of my athletic long-term goals is to play professionally in the NBA or for overseas basketball. Basketball has been a part of my life for a long time and I want it to be a big part of my future. Basketball has not only been an athletic activity for me it has been a positive emotional outlet. 

My career goals are to develop and grow my company, while playing professional ball. By the time I finish playing ball, I will have the means and opportunity to help more youth succeed through the sports they love. I want to be known for my skills on and off the court.
