Hello, My name is Ahmyr Dawson. I am currently a high school senior (2022') who plays varsity basketball for the Wilson Academy (Conyers, GA). I have been an active varsity basketball player since I was a freshman at my previous high school Stephenson High (Stone Mountain, GA). Some of my collegiate goals and aspirations are to receive a full scholarship which would enable me to play basketball at the college level and potentially major in Engineering with a minor in Sports Medicine. I feel as though I would be a good fit for any collegiate basketball team for a variety of reasons. I believe the main reason that sets me apart from most H.S. senior candidates is that I am very coachable. Most senior basketball players buy into their own hype and think that they are in some way entitled to certain privileges. I don't think that way at all. My mentality is you can ALWAYS improve your game and as a person. Some of my strengths on the court are my mid-range game. I can create my own shot off the dribble, finish at the rim with both hands, knock down the long ball and I am becoming a better defender each an every day. I am a team player who believes in team basketball and I am constantly working hard to become a better leader on and off the court. My current GPA is a 3.78 and I am dedicated to improving my academics as well as my overall game .
