Cole Proffitt '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cole Proffitt, and I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by my page to give me a glance.  To start off with, I can honestly say that I am already blessed in so many ways in my life.  I was adopted and placed with my mom when I was just three weeks old.  She has given me her all and encouraged me every step of the way thus far.  Even though I didn't have a father roll in my life, my grandfather, who has since passed away was there for me as well.  He also encouraged me to be the best at whatever I loved and be the best man I can be.  I've learned to set goals and to work hard to achieve those goals.  There have been setbacks with injuries and pain, but I have just recovered and come back stronger.  God has given me the blessing to love and play basketball.  My short-term dream is to play college basketball on some level.  

When I was in seventh grade I began playing basketball and I haven't stopped.  I started growing and the ball is at times my therapy and my best friend.  AAU has been a wonderful avenue for me to grow and meet coaches and other players.  Coach Burbee Heard has been my coach for several years.  We have won multiple tournaments over the years and are ranked number one on most of the tournaments that we attend.  I'm like the "layup King"!  My job is to do some of the dirty work that other players don't like to do on defense, rebound and block.  I can put up 30 points a game on just rebounds while my friends are doing all the dunking, I'm just laying up those pretty layups all night. 

Yes, basketball is a love for me.  The Lord and then family come first in my life.  Anyone that you ask about me will tell you that I'm a big softy off the court, but on the court, I'm all ready to play.
