Personal Statement

My Name is Zion Powers. I want to thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I have been working hard in the classroom because I have a goal to go to college. I would like to study in the fields of Economics, Real-estate, & Investing. My granddad is a real-estate agent, and I am really interested in learning more about the field so I can help families.

I am a good basketball recruit candidate because I am not a stranger to hard work, I add to the team’s harmony and chemistry, and I use my skills to execute what my coaches ask me to do. I have been training my entire life for the opportunity to play at the next level. My parents have supported and invested in me because they know I love basketball. They give me pride and I want to make them proud.

I am different from other recruits because I recognize the need to evolve with the team and the situation. I do not know everything, but I trust my coaches and I will continue to work and grow as a player. I want to surprise myself someday with how good I can be. I know that comes from listening, practicing and executing the plan. I get my character from my parents, coaches and mentors. They have taught me respect and how to treat others. In the classroom I show up to learn. My uncle in the Army told me a long time ago that education is a whole system of learning inside and outside the classroom. I’m always learning. Education is the key to the future. I believe in that.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
