I am a 6'1" combo guard that can also slide to the small forward position. This year will be my third year on varsity. During my junior year I was recognized as an ILH Division 1 All-Star honorable mention, Division 1 of the ILH being one of, if not the most competitive league in the state of Hawaii. Although my scoring wasn't highlighted that often, this accomplishment shows the impact I have made for my varsity team. In college I would like to study in a form of environmental or agricultural sustainability because I care a lot of about the environment and believe that sustainability is one of our nations biggest issues. I strongly believe in the term student-athlete in the sense that to be a good athlete, you need to strive to try to be the best in the classroom first. I think that a lot of athletes forget this sometimes and I think that is something that makes me different from other athletes. I also strongly believe that my cumulative grade point average isn't a good representation of my academic abilities, but if you refer to my transcript, my junior year in high school is a better representation of my academic abilities. I feel I am a good candidate your team because I take a lot of pride about being a defensive player first. If you play good defense then you get more opportunities to be on offense and a great opportunity to win the game. I am also a teammate who looks for my teammates first, but when I have to step up and look for my shot then I feel that I am capable of knocking down shots. I also feel that I am a good teammate. I encourage my teammates and although I can be a vocal leader on the court, when it comes to having a leadership role I know my place, and try to lead by example both on and off the court.
