Preston Sledge '25 Recruiting Profile

I would like to study business and play D1 or D2 basketball.  I was 1st Team All-Conference in the Power 5 AAA with Busche Academy 2024.  2nd Team All-Tournament at the CIBA Championship Weekend in Phoenix, AZ hosted by AZ Compass .  I was named Top 2025 Point Guards for New England and was named Top 130 Players in New England by Prep Hoops. My passion for basketball goes beyond the game itself. Being a part of a team and being a point guard is part of me. I started playing in 3rd grade when the YMCA league had me play with 6th graders. I began playing on an AAU team in 4th grade called Team Manimal. A Chicago coach found me in Champaign, IL and invited me to an AAU team out of Chicago called Meanstreets. Playing some of the top teams and talent in the country since 4th grade and receiving several Top 20 in National showcases such as the NEO Youth Elite and MSHTV Camp has helped shape my dreams of playing basketball at the college level.  I lost a basketball mate and close friend at an early age to gun violence in our city. This happened before covid  Losing a teammate and not being able to play basketball my entire freshman year since our school remained closed the entire year, I was devastated and struggled a little with my grades.  Through this trying time of my life taught me a lot about my inner strengths that I didn't know existed.  I accepted a scholarship offer at 16 yrs. old, from Champaign, IL to attend a AAA Power 5 basketball school, Busche Academy in Chestire,NH.  I sacrificed my Junior & senior year of high school with my friends to pursue my love of basketball and to fulfill my dream of going to college.  Here I am completing my senior year at Winchendon Prep this year, playing on a National Prep team, making a name for myself in New England and maintaining a 3.3 GPA. Each year my inner strength gets better and tougher just like what I put out on the basketball court.
