I am a 6’5” basketball player for Marist High School in Chicago Catholic Conference. I have played nearly every position due to my athletic ability and the needs of the team. I consider myself a small forward with a wingspan is 6’8” and a 37” vertical. I have grabbed over 400 rebounds in my high school career and in this past season, averaged over 10 points per game.
I obtained the IHSA recognition as All-State Academic team honorable mention, this selection was out of 400 nominees, the IHSA committee only selects 26 honorees for the team, and only 50 for the honorable mention distinction. I also was named to the all-conference team and nominated for the McDonald's All-American Game.
I pride myself on being a dynamic defender that can shut down the best players across the country like Jordan Poole at Michigan and 2018 high recruits like Xavier Pinson (Missouri), Tim Finke (Grand Canyon) and Messiah Jones (Drake) as well as a prolific passer that sees the floor very well.
I have been a captain of the varsity since my sophomore year. This year we were 27-5 winning our regionals and had a very strong showing in the Sectional championship game against the nationally ranked Simeon team only losing by 5 points in the last minutes of the fourth quarter. In the 2016-17 season we were 27-4 finishing with both conference and regional championships. I was named to the all-conference team honorable mention and selected twice for Scout Focus All-American team. In addition, I played on a successful AAU team beating the best teams across the country including teams like Mac Irvin Fire. In middle school, I was selected by the Middle School Elite program as one of their top ten players.
I’m also quick and fast. In track, I ran the anchor leg in the conference winning 4x100m, 4x200m along with winning the long jump with a leap of 21 feet and for my first ever 400m run I was timed at 52.9. I run track during the off season to stay active and in shape. Basketball is my first love and basketball is in my blood. My brother, Marc, played for Colgate, my cousin, Tavaras Hardy, is head coach at Loyola University in Maryland and my cousin, Amara Graham plays for Univ. of Texas Rio Grande.
I have included some historical videos to highlight more of my ball handling and ability to shoot the from behind the arch which may not show up in some of my recent videos due to the needs of my High School team. In addition, I have led my team in free throw percentages over the last two years.
Thank you for your consideration.
