Cody Baer '19 Recruiting Profile

HI!  My name is Cody Baer and I am a 6’8 stretch 4, from Peoria, Illinois.  I am a very hard worker on and off the court.   I am in the gym as much as possible, putting up shots,  working with a shooting coach, working on my footwork, ball handling and trying to improve my overall game.   I am also working with a strength coach to help me become quicker, stronger, and more balanced.  I have been playing basketball since I was 4 years old and playing travel basketball since 3^rd grade.  I am a great ball handler and being so tall, I can see court extremely well.   I have been the starting point guard since I’ve started playing but with my new height, I am now playing a stretch 4 and power forward.  I love being down low and banging with the big's but also like stepping out and shooting the three.  I am team player who can score in transition, quick jumper or driving down the lane but always looking to pass to my teammate who is open to score. 

I have also been running track since 5^th grade. I have gone to state three times.   I run the 400, 4x400, 4x200, and do the high jump with a personal best of 6'2, so far.

I not only work hard on the court but off the court as well.  I take my grades very seriously and have a 3.8/4.0 GPA.   I am a team player and I am looking for a college that is a good fit and that I can make a big contribution early in my career.
