I'm a 6'3", very long and lengthy defender which is one of the best attributes to my game. But what makes me stand out is my passion for the game of basketball from about the time I could walk. I've played many sports--football, baseball, soccer, golf--but my love of hoops won out in the end. My work ethic, constant drive for improvement and coach-ability molded me into a strong and solid player, more than natural ability.
My passion started with my Dad. He loved the game of basketball and he encouraged me to always give it my all on the court. But it was his own fighting spirit that gave me the greatest example in my life. Although his battle with cancer ended 4 years ago, I constantly feel his spirit driving me to excellence on the court. I still feel closest to him when I play.
I play with energy and positivity that differentiates me from other players on the court. While personal success is always a goal, the team's overall success is primary importance and I try to play selflessly for the good of the team. I want to be an encourager in all aspects of my life.
While basketball is currently the love of my life, I realize that my education will bring me eventually to a career I love. I want to find a good balance in college that allows me to excel at both.
On a lighter note, I also enjoy practicing some pretty smooth dance moves and while you may not think that has anything to do with hoops, I think it gives me some extra finesse on the court!
