Basketball has been a big part of my life since I was very little. I play every chance I get, and always want to get better. My brother and parents and I used to go play whenever we had free time. I'm happy and comfortable on the court.
My motto is "Outwork everybody in front of no one". To me, this means that it doesn't matter who watches you or competes with you. I have to compete against myself and be better tomorrow than I was today. I challenge myself on the court, in the classroom, and in general. This has taught me how to focus, learn some of my strengths and weaknesses, and keep pushing. I'm good at managing my time and prioritizing, and I know that will be very helpful when I'm a college athlete. I always push myself to do better.
Coaches always say that I am very coachable, and I appreciate that. Feedback is something I take seriously and use to get better.
I have gotten leadership awards from school and the community, and very much feel that my team is an extension of me, and that I'm an extension of my team. Knowing each other and working together is key. I just turned 17, so I am younger. I feel that I am a strong player, but that I also have a lot of room for growth. I want to end up playing somewhere I add value, and that also pushes me to keep getting better.
Academically, I'm interested in criminal justice, sociology, social work/mental heath, and psychology. I think I want to be a detective.
