I have always had a strong love for the game of basketball. I feel like I grew up in the gym, because my older brothers played basketball and I always wanted to tag along. I wanted to be better than them, but because I was so much younger, I had to work twice as hard as they did. That helped build my strong work ethic and competitive spirit. I began playing AAU basketball in the 5th grade, so that I could increase my knowledge of the game and expand my skill set. Growing up in a rural area, I knew I wanted to play better competition to help me become the best athlete I could be.
My goal this year to be a key player on our Varsity team and to be able to be a big part of my teams success. This past season we had a heavy upperclassman team and my Varsity playing time was very limited. This was a learning experience for me and it made me work harder and taught me to take advantage of every minute I had on the floor. I hope to continue to build my skill set while growing my knowledge of the game. As I enter my Junior year, I am taking some college and ACT prep classes, so that I can be a more successful student athlete. I am a well rounded individual who enjoys hunting, fishing, attending my church youth group and hanging out with my friends and family.
