Colin O'Rourke - Junior, Plainfield North H.S.
I first began playing basketball when I was five and immediately had a passion for the sport. When I was younger I played baseball, basketball, and football, but I always had a preference for basketball and realized that I excelled in the sport. At the age of twelve I made the decision to focus all my time and energy into my favorite sport, basketball. As I grew older my dreams became bigger and I decided I wanted to play basketball at the collegiate level. I am an athlete who is coachable and one who knows the game of basketball very well. I have learned that not only is basketball a physical game but it is a mental game. I continue to dedicate myself to the sport and to getting stronger physically and mentally.
Outside of basketball, I have earned a 4.9 GPA and continue to be motivated to maintain a high GPA. I am a member of St. Mary Immaculate Parish and I have volunteered at my church and within my community at a local food pantry and serving at my parish. I take pride in my grades and my character. I am motivated and determined to accomplish my academic and athletic goals.
My future academic and athletic goals are to attend a college where I can receive my bachelor's degree in business and continue to play the sport that I love, basketball.
