Jaxxon Handy '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jaxxon Handy. I am entering my senior year of high school. I have been playing basketball since I was four years old. I am passionate about the game beyond just putting the ball in the hoop. I understand the value and integrity of the game. I have learned and benefited from the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and what it means to put in the work! That means I have learned many life lessons through the game.   

I understand what it means to want something so badly that you spend almost every waking hour thinking about the game. I have enjoyed playing on my school teams, junior high and high school, and on a traveling AAU team. I am best known for shooting the ball and making plays. I have an excellent basketball IQ, which means I can decipher the offensive strategy of my opponent and work to respond defensively. 

I work out daily between two gyms. I receive formal training at Spear Training and informally at my local gym. More than all of this, I am incredibly coachable and am looking for someone to help take me to the next level. 

I am an academic athlete. I value the merits of education, and as my transcript will reflex, I am a committed student. My path has not been easy, but I recently listened to a podcast from a college coach wherein she emphasized that there is no easy button. I understand where I am in my basketball aspirations and am looking for a committed professional who will provide me with the opportunity to showcase my talent and help take me to the next level.
