Basketball has always been a huge part of my life. I basically grew up in gyms. My dad has been a college basketball coach for over 20 years, and I would always be in the gym with him working on my game since I was five years old. I find no greater joy in life than going in the gym for hours at a time and working to improve my game. I have a twin sister who was diagnosed with severe autism at the age of two and she has never been able to participate in sports, so I know what a blessing and privilege it is to be able to go into a gym every day and work hard to achieve my goals. I never take this for granted! I have always set very specific goals for myself in basketball and worked hard to achieve them. This past year, I achieved my first high school goal, which was to play on our varsity team as a freshman and help lead our team to a conference championship. I played the entire season on the varsity team (a team that consisted of eight seniors, six who will be playing college basketball next year) and played in every game and started five games. We won 20 games and went undefeated in conference. I have been recognized by some scouting services as one of the top players in the Class of 2020, and also have been recognized by some as one of the top shooters in the class. I am a very versatile player, who has excellent ball handling skills and can play the point guard position, but also am a very good shooter and can play the shooting guard position. I am constantly trying to improve every facet of my game! When I am not playing basketball, I am watching it! I attended my first Final Four when I was 8 years old, and have dreamed about playing college basketball ever since. I realize that there is much more to achieving my dream of playing college basketball than just working hard in the gym. I take great pride in my work in the classroom and being a player with great character and a great leader on and off the court. I am a true student of the game with a very high basketball IQ, and I take great pride in making my teammates better players by always displaying a tremendous work ethic and level of dedication. I believe God has blessed me with a gift of playing basketball, and I feel it is my job to constantly work to develop this gift.
