Hayden Johns '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Hayden Johns. I’m in the graduate class of 2027.I started playing basketball when I was in 3rd grade. At that time I tried to be involved in every club that my school offered because I knew I wanted to be an athlete. My love for basketball became a #1 priority in my 6th grade year. I was determined to focus on the game and be the very best. It was then that I knew I wanted to play basketball beyond my high school years. 

I focused on knowing the game, knowing how offense and defense work. Knowing what to anticipate and think outside the box. I attended extra camps, stayed after school to practice with older players, asked for extra practice time with coaches, always trying to learn more and pass that knowledge on to my teammates. I am a good listener, welcome constructive criticism and I am a coachable player. My goal is to be noticed, be the best player and be the best teammate.

When the basketball season ends at school, my off season starts. I am already preparing for the next season, asking what I can do better. I stay active as an athlete, I play baseball and football as well. I continue to go to open gym sessions and work on improving my skills. I have improved my ball handling skills as well as my free throws, field goal and 3 point averages. Being an athlete is what I want to be for as long as I can.

Academically, I work hard in the classroom. I am a B student, but will push myself to do more, be more. I am involved in our student council, helping to lead our student body. I am also involved in my church youth group and have participated in many service projects to help my community.

I want to further my education as an electrical engineer or manufacturing engineer. I want to go to a college where I can focus on my education as well as play basketball. I want a college that will push me to the potential I know I have.
