I did not start playing basketball until the 7th grade, and I realized how much I enjoyed playing. I work hard to get better every day. I've used private lessons to help me to be a better shooter and work on agility. I have played on multiple AAU teams in between seasons to improve my defense as well as my offense. I would be an integral part of any team because of my work ethic. I work daily to become a better player and teammate. I study my film to see my weaknesses, and the ways I can improve. I may not be 6'5", but I play tough and work hard!!
It is also important for me to be the best student-athlete I can be. Since transferring to a private school, Bethany Christian, I have had to work harder for my grades than ever. It hasn't been easy, but I have figured out how to be a better student in a learning environment that is preparing me for studying and preforming at a higher level once I get to college.
I plan on studying Criminal Justice in college, maybe even go to Law School, but I don't think I will ever stop playing basketball on some level. I have practiced and worked with the higher level basketball teams from the Elkhart County Special Olympics, and volunteered for several of their events. I plan on continuing to work with underprivileged and special needs children long after school. I've gotten a lot more from them than they could ever give me in the way of appreciation for life and the game.
