I have been playing basketball since I was 3 years old. On the court, some of my best attributes are my ball handling, shooting, and a high basketball IQ. The main reason for my IQ is that I have grown up around basketball with my dad coaching at various high schools and as an assistant coach for the Indiana Wesleyan University women's team. Through my high school basketball career I have been a leader on my team, and as a team we have developed an atmosphere where we celebrate each others' goals and are very encouraging to one another. I know that playing basketball takes up a lot of time, but I think it is worth the work, and I love the game. In college, I am looking forward to going into coaching or athletic training. I am committed to working hard, whether it is school, athletics or my job. One thing that basketball has done for me is taught me to be hardworking and persevere through trials. Persevering has been part of my life outside of basketball as well as my brother went through a bone marrow transplant for a rare disease, and I was a the donor. He ended up living and doing very well. I have been on missions' trips as well, including one to Guatemala. These experiences have shaped me to be who I am and to think of all the blessings God has given me. Some of my characteristics are that I am a relaxed person and I am positive and kind. I love to have a good time with people, and I lead my friend group to make good decisions and challenge one another. My greatest basketball accomplishments are scoring 1000 points as a junior, being selected as All State Second Team for all high schools (non-IHSAA), and having the school record of 11 made threes in one game.
