When I was younger at age 4, I wanted to be a basketball player. I remember I used to take my court out and shoot on it pretending I was Kobe. When I was on my first basketball team I would cry and pout every time we lost. Whenever I would lose I would think back to see what my mistakes were and work to correct them, so that me and my team would not lose the next time. The first time I stepped on the court and played organized basketball, I faced the reality that I'm not always the best person on the court every time. Since that day, I have strived to work harder and try to be the best. I as a player will always play as hard as I can through it all. After I broke my arm last summer I was still in the gym getting shots up and working on my craft. I would tell myself nothing can hold me back. During my first game back I scored 21 points. This made me realize that hard-work and dedication pays off. During the summer before 9th grade I faced a problem. I didn't know whether I wanted to continue playing basketball and football or stick to one. I decided I would focus upon basketball and work on that sport twice as hard.
While in high school, I want to get a scholarship to college, and in college I want to get my degree and become an independent self-reliant person. While playing basketball, I've learned that I am a leader and a person that likes to be in control. While playing this sport, I have faced some adversities such as being "skinny". Individuals thought that I was too small and wouldn't be able to take the contact, but I used my long arms and speed to manuever through traffic while getting to the basket.
