I have been playing basketball since I was in elementary school and enjoyed the game immensely because of the high level of team work and physical skill needed to be successful. The game requires you to put in the time to develop your basketball IQ, basketball skills, and physical strength and endurance. For myself this begins at 5:30 in the morning Monday through Friday with my strength coach, then depending on the time of the year playing high school or travel basketball and at least twice a week with a skills basketball trainer. What I realize by putting in all this time i have been on varsity since my freshman year. Putting in quality time equates to desired results.
What I have learned form basketball I now apply those ideas to my academic world. You need to put in the time in the school work to find susses in the class room. For me this means getting to school early if needed to address any academic issues, making sure all work due is on time, and make sure enough time is set aside to study for tests. By applying the idea the right amount of quality time that is needed for academic success, I have found my grades to improve significantly and now focusing on my senior year half in high school and half in a college setting.
