I love playing basketball and the process of continuing to try and execute at a higher level. I played a variety of sports when I was younger, but basketball become my favorite sport. I enjoy the movement and trying to use skills and make decisions in a fast-paced game. I am thankful that I was given athletic ability and movements skills that fit basketball. I was blessed to have a father who played a sport in college and professionally and was able to help me understand how to train and set goals.
My game was influenced a lot during my elementary and middle school years growing up in Baltimore City. Playing there helped me develop a toughness and intensity that has helped prepare me for competitive situations. In addition to being devoted to practicing skills and conditioning, I have also spent a lot of time in a curriculum geared to help players develop confidence, focus and relaxed intensity. Practicing my mental strength, has been an important part of my development as a person and player.
I am kind of old school in that I enjoy facilitating offense not just to take shots but to move a defense and create easier shots for my teammates. While I enjoy scoring and will confidently take shots, I find enjoyment in assisting others and running good offense for the team’s success. I am also committed to the defensive end and realize how important that part of the game is as well as rebounding. I am attentive to the little things that make a big difference. I have been able to be an extension of some of my coaches on the court, providing encouragement and directions to teammates.
I am very teachable, loyal, and eager to learn and grow and I really enjoy the sense of belonging that comes from a team committed to working hard and seeking results. I also likegetting to know others from various backgrounds, encouraging others and developing a sense of community with my teammates.
