Thank you very much college coaches of the many universities for taking the time and reading my statement. My name is Michel Toney and I believe that education comes first and that’s what I always pride myself on, along with getting better each and every day in basketball. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts and overcame a lot of obstacles to get to where I’m at today. My goal each and every time I play basketball or workout is to get better. I have dedication to the game and work extremely hard to become the best student-athlete player I can possibly be. I am a long 6-1 combo guard who mainly focuses on penetrating and making his teammates better, by putting them in the best position to score. I have a variety of skills and can rebound, shoot, play hard defense, block shots, and beat my man off the dribble and set a teammate up. I play hard, aggressive, and have a winning attitude. I have a strong passion for basketball and work to improve my game everyday. I am great at making my teammates better and doing everything my coaches ask of me both on and off the court. I get along well with my teammates and make for an unselfish player that understands the game and loves to win. I am very interested in joining a College basketball program. I have a desire to keep playing and seeing where my potential can lead me. I believe I have the ability and work ethic to add to my skills now and become a phenomenal player wherever I end up. A major deciding factor on a University I will attend will be the opportunity to play basketball. I am a serious, dedicated athlete who is willing to work hard and loves to play basketball. One thing that separates me from other athletes is my desire to win. Winning is important and I would do whatever it takes to help my team win.
I have been playing basketball for my school since 8th grade. Basketball made me into a better person, and I am still looking to improve every chance I get. Doing well academically in college is my main focus. Making it to the NBA would be a dream of a lifetime. Coaches will see they are getting a leader, scholar, hard worker, and team player if they recruit me and give me a chance. Giving me a chance to play at your school would be a true honor and a blessing.
