I've always been athletic and successful in the many sports I played since I was little (i.e. baseball, soccer & football) but it was basketball, the sport I started the latest, which became my passion. Basketball is the sport that I chose to play on my own when I was in eighth grade and I was determined to make up for lost time by practicing and playing as much as possible. My dedication paid off. I was soon starting on an AAU travel team and by my sophomore year, I made the varsity basketball team for my high school.
This past season as a Junior, I was voted Captain and started at point guard for the varsity team. When on the court, I control the pace of the game whether we need to use up the clock or get a quick bucket. My court vision is strong and I make crafty passes, often elevating the play of my teammates by assisting smart shots. I'm also tough defensively - getting my hands in the passing lane, sacrificing my body to take a charge, and ultimately, disrupting the play of whomever I'm guarding.
I also pride myself on keeping my composure in stressful games. I work on keeping myself and my teammates focused - not allowing emotions to take away from our game. In short, I'm an impactful player with strong basketball IQ and growing leadership qualities. I am driven to continue to develop these and other skills by playing at the collegiate level while pursuing a degree in Marketing.
