Growing up, I always believed that awards, accolades, and personal achievements is what defines and overall validates you as an athlete. I was always told that being coachable and a good teammate is more important, but I never bought it. Although, over the past few seasons, I have come to realize that putting the team first instead of yourself is what leads to overall success. I learned that being coachable, a good teammate, and help putting your team in the best position to win is what breeds personal awards and achievements. If you put the team first, the personal achievements will come. And over the past few seasons, my mindset approaching basketball has changed tremendously. I started as a kid who just wanted to make sure I look good regardless of the outcome of the game, to a kid who now understands that it's all about doing your part no matter your role in order to win. This is why I believe I can make an immediate impact on the court at the collegiate level, on top of my skillset.
