Someone asked me recently, "What do you love about basketball?" While I know I love basketball it was the first time I articulated it out loud to someone. In short, basketball is my peace. In a world full of struggle, basketball is my solace. Since before I was old enough to play organized ball. basketball has been my favorite of all sports. I have played organized football, wrestling, track & field, and basketball. Each sport helped me develop and strengthen my skills differently.
My intent is to play basketball at the collegiate level while studying Business. I am a good candidate for college and college sports for many reasons. There are the price of admission reasons, for example, I can pass, shoot, score, handle the ball, am coachable, and can play defense. But more importantly I bring stability to the floor, my basketball IQ is amazing, I have vision, and can maintain my composure in even the most stressful and competitive situations. And of course I can handle the demanding schedule of playing ball while maintaining my academic responsibilities. My coaches would agree and also tell you they think I'm a great person who genuinely cares about the well-being and success of those around me.
Outside of school and basketball I am a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Esquire program where I serve as the President, an elected position. The Esquire program is a leadership development program focused on high scholarship, excellence, building leadership skills, community service, respect for womanhood, and becoming the type of person who can become a source of inspiration for their community.
