My name is Dax Huuki and I am currently an 8th grader in a small town in the Upper Peninsula of MI. I have always had a passion for sports. I started playing hockey when I was 4 years old and have been a part of a team since I was 5 years old. When I was in 3rd grade, my love for basketball took over and I have been obsessed ever since. I feel like being on a team from such a young age has molded me into a very coachable, team minded athlete.
It is always difficult to talk about yourself in this way, but I am positive that I have a level of work ethic and dedication that is not found in many people. I devote nearly all of my free time to conditioning, agility and strength training. In addition to school and the other sports I play, I still manage to find a basketball in my hand every single day. In the basketball off season, I play on an AAU travel team, I get one on one training twice a week at a sports training facility that has trained Olympic and college athletes/teams, attend basketball camps (PGC) and I take any opportunity to better myself.
My dream is to play Division I basketball and hopefully get the opportunity to play oversees or for the NBA.
I think you can dream as big as you allow yourself to dream and if you are persistent, work hard and don't give up, you can achieve anything. I have no doubt I will meet the goals I have set out for myself someday.
