I am someone who works hard on and off the court. I give 110 percent, not only with working on my game but also in school. I encourage and help my teammates/classmates to improve. I try to help them reach their goals, as well as my own. I know I will only be as good as my team, and their success reflects my own. I also know that I want the community around me to be as positive as it can be. I have sought out opportunities to be a positive leader in my school/ community. I have been active in clubs, such as Most Teens Don't. This is a campaign that is geared towards educating teens about substance use and the importance of not engaging in substance use. I am currently a member of the National Honor Society. This has been an honor, as membership is dependent upon your evident display of the 4 pillars, Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
My goal is to play basketball at the collegiate level. I love the game and everything about it. I love the intensity of a tough, fast paced game. I love being a part of a team that has a united goal. As a captain, I take pride in being a leader on the court. I know that it takes hard work and dedication outside of game times and practices. I am dedicated to putting in the extra time it takes to set me apart. When it comes to basketball I am someone who has a great basketball IQ. I know how to read my teammates, the other team, and the court. I am able to see the court and find the open man. I take great pride in going after rebounds and building my stats. I have always worked at improving my post game as well as guard skills. I am able to handle the ball and I have a 3 point shot that demands to be defended. I am able to balance school and sports fairly easily. I play sports year round and still uphold a 3.9 GPA. I understand the importance of maintaining a high GPA in order to access scholarships. I have good time management and a strong work ethic. I am excited about the future.
