Personal Statement

I have been a basketball player for a majority of my life.  I started playing very young and made the jump to playing competively in 3rd grade.  I have continued to play/train year round while also playing football and maintaining a 3.8 GPA.  I set a Lake City Basketball program record for hours spent practicing in the off season with 710 hours in 2015 and have continued to have at least 600 hours of off season hours through 2018.  My goals for college are to play at a Division 1 or 2 level and also find a college that fits my interests academically and geographically.  Basketball has taught me the value of sacrifice, committment to working on developing my game individually as well as the importance of bringing my skills to team play.

The highlight of my high school career so far was making it to the state tournament twice, once as a freshman and recently as a junior.  Obviously my role from my freshman year to my junior year was dramatically different.  I take great pride in having been our team's leader on the floor as our point guard this past season.  I led our team in all statistical categories, including points per game, rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots.  These experiences have helped me grow as a player and a person and have given me a better path towards my future in the sport.  I believe that I have the talent and mindset to compete at the college level, and all the things I have acquired from my many games played, practices, and workouts will help me achieve my goal of playing Division 1 or 2 basketball.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
