My name is Aaron Stallings and I was born in Jefferson City, Missouri. I currently live in Indianapolis and am a junior at University High School of Indiana. University High is a college preparatory high school with teams that play in the 2A conference.
After graduating from high school, I plan to enroll in college and major in Health Science or Kinesiology. I intend to graduate with a bachelors degree and work as an Exercise Physiologist. I am the youngest of four siblings, all of whom have entered college. My three older siblings have been great role models for my athletics and academics, helping me to build a strong work ethic and competitive nature.
I believe I can be a good addition to any basketball program because I have played in multiple positions throughout my basketball career. While I began playing basketball as a point guard, my basketball career has included a variety of teams, coaches and positions. As a middle schooler, I played on a homeschool traveling team out of Missouri as a point guard. Between middle and high school, I moved from shooting guard, small forward and power forward positions. My experience in each position helped me improve my skill set and over all basketball IQ. My experience playing multiple positions also showed me that being a point guard was not the most important skill I had. I learned to be a role player, a passer, and a key defender whenever I was needed. I did not initially like being moved from point guard to other positions, but I learned to focus a lot more on my defense and off ball movement.
I am an A/B student and currently have a 3.14 GPA. All University High School classes are offered at an honors level. This summer (2020) I plan to enroll in one online college course so that I can get a sense of what college coursework is like prior to my final year of high school.
