Falling short of the district championship three straight years is what drives me. Basketball is about more than my love and passion for the game. It is about those who have helped me get to where I am now, and about going against all negativity and hopelessness of the people who lack belief in potential success within my high school's athletic programs. I play basketball to show that not only are my high school's athletes good athletes, but quality students in the classroom as well. I am dedicated to proving the worth of students of my high school and people of my community. I plan to attend a four year college and receive degrees in the journalism and broadcasting field of study.
I have been fortunate enough to play varsity basketball for my whole high school career, and be varsity team captain as a senior. I am known as a leader in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. During tough times in my life, I maintain persistence to achieve my goals, and my peers respect that about me. Being so influential to my peers, I push others to succeed both on the court and in the classroom. They then begin to push themselves and help others become better along the way. The reason my mindstate is where it is today is because of basketball. As impactful as the game of basketball has been to my family, myself, and the success of myself and others, I would not give up the game of basketball for anything in the world.
