My life and sports are both pretty important to me. When I was in grade school I didn't care about school much then at the end of my 6th grade year I started playing basketball and that changed. Basketball became my passion. It influenced me and taught me that if I didn't do good in school I couldn't play the sport that I began to love. I have come to enjoy competing at a very high and intensified level. I love the rush of being on the court.
My high school/
I have had to to overcome many obstacles on and off the court. For example my grandpa died shortly before my freshman season of basketball. He was one of my biggest supporters and loved to watch me play. To get over the pain of losing him, I focused all my energy on playing basketball and that in turn has made me a stronger player.
I believe what makes me stand out from other players is my heart and my drive. I am 100% committed to the game and my teammates. I will do what needs to be done on and off the court to ensure that I can continue to play the game for as long as I am physically possible. In some ways this sport changed my life. It gave me a sense of purpose academically and athletically.
