Taylen Hawkins '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Taylen Hawkins, I am completing my Freshman year at McMurry University in Abilene Texas.    I plan on transferring to a college closer to my home state of Montana to study engineering or pre-law and  would like to continue to play basketball.  I love the game of basketball, and I’ve always wanted to compete at the college level.  My freshman year did not yield the results I would have liked and would like to find a college program will help me grow not only physically, but mentally and spiritually.  I graduated from Billings Christian School in May of 2021. I have played basketball since I was in 3rd grade and I’ve always found it to be a place of personal retreat.   My leadership, care and compassion for others, integrity, and desire to do the right thing sets me apart from others.   I bring physical strength and size around the rim with a soft touch to the post position and will be an asset for any team.   I’ve played on multiple travel, AAU and high school teams and  have an understanding of the game.  My goal is to push hard this next year and focus on academics, basketball, and  my faith in God.
