  • "15U Final: Philly Ballhawks vs. York Ballers (Pa.) It took an extra two minutes and a couple of deep breaths, but the York Ballers (Pa.) were able to outlast the Philly Ballhawks in overtime with a 56-48 victory. York had a double-digit lead with as little as six minutes on the clock, but a barrage of three-pointers and some mental mistakes led to the Ballhawks’ comeback. “We got tired, that’s for sure,” York Ballers’ coach Pat McGlynn said. “We definitely got tired. We were down one kid but they held on. They were strong with the basketball at the end, knock down their free throws and that’s how you win games in the end.” Northeastern guard Darius Brown led the way with 11 points, followed by Bridgewater Raritan’s (N.J.) Matt Mancuso, a 6-foot-7 forward, with 10. Gridlocked at 47 a piece after regulation, a Mancuso floater on the baseline only thirty seconds into extra time gave the Ballers their first points of overtime and a two-point lead, one they would not relinquish. “We played some tough teams so far this year,” McGlynn said. “We played Sports U at the finals at Hoop Group and lost to them by eight. We actually got them in the first round here and beat them by 16 so the barometer’s been set. Hopefully we continue on this July live period.” Matt is actually 6"5"
