PERSONAL STATEMENT
Basketball is more than a sport where I can display my skills and athletic prowess. Through basketball, I have been able to improve my ability to focus and remain composed in the classroom.
I attribute this to the discipline and work ethic that have been instilled in me starting from my early years as a member of the West Windsor-Plainsboro Travel League. This was a very structured league that stressed the importance of maintaining focus, composure and temperament. Those who failed to follow these requirements received very limited playing time on the court. At the same time, Travel League coaches placed great emphasis on maintaining high academic standards if you wanted to remain on the team. As a starter on the West Windsor-Plainsboro High School Freshman Basketball Team, much of what I learned while a member of the Travel league continues to resonate with me today. I hope to be able to hone these skills in a college program, which encourages academic and athletic success. I am committed to helping your program compete at the level!
The same applies to lacrosse. For the past few years, I have noticed marked improvement with my focus and concentration on the lacrosse field as well.
