David Gonzalez '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is David and I started playing basketball at the age of 5 and I have been playing competitive team basketball since the 3rd grade. I play the position or point guard on both ELITE Travel and AAU teams all year round and have won multiple National level tournaments over the years playing on  several Elite teams (CT High Rise Nationals Team, Triple Threat Elite, Dover NJ).  I practice consistently every day on and off the court to continuously improve on my shooting, ball handling and passing as well as improve my defensive skills. I have a very high percentage average for 3 point and mid range shots.  I am also an above average defender getting a lot of steals and protecting the rim.  I certainly love the game of basketball and what it offers, the new challenges, going to new places, meeting new people, the teamwork and most of all the great competition.  I am currently finishing my sophomore year at Montville High School in Montville, NJ,  I am currently enrolled in honor role classes and I look to maintain a very high grade point average in all subjects (4.2).  My goal is to continue playing at a very competitive level in High School and then in College. My dedication, focus and attention to detail has allowed me to excel in both the classroom and in the sport. I have strong work ethics and I play the game of basketball very unselfish and smart. I always try to get all of my team mates involved. I feel I am a great team player and leader. I lead by example.  Thank you for reading my statement!
