I begin my day by saying, "I can, I will, I must win in life." My strong will and drive to become successful comes from my mother who is a single parent. My mother has instilled into me principles of being your best, never quiting, and respect people. I strive to consistently apply these principles academically and athletically. My ultimate goal is to attend college on an athletic scholarship.
In my freshman year, I played football and basketball, and I received honorable mention for my 3.5 GPA. I did very well academically, but I felt after internally processing my performance for both sports that I needed to go to the next level athletically. During the summer, I diligently went to work by training daily. I worked on my basketball skills and worked with a strength and conditioning trainer. I also learned how to compete on a different level by playing pick-up ball against college basketball players. For the next three years, I plan to continue developing athletically and academically in order to be a valuable asset to a college basketball program.
