My Personal Statement
My name is Kurtis Charles Taylor III. I am totally in love with the game of basketball. I enjoy everything about it – practice, training, conditioning, studying film, and especially playing the game. I enjoy belonging to a team and helping my brothers to compete. It feels great to win, but I also find fulfillment in knowing that I’m getting better – that my team is getting better. All of us working together for a common goal is what attracts me to the game. I fully intend to play the game at the collegiate level, and hopefully will play professionally in some capacity. I am looking forward to the challenges of playing college basketball and learning new skills from the trainers and coaching staff.
I will bring a willingness to give 110% of myself to my team! I am completely unselfish and extremely coachable. I love to learn and apply what I have learned to game situations. I maintain a positive attitude – complaining is a waste of everyone’s time. I am confident in my skills, and I place importance on encouraging my teammates. I follow instructions and learn new concepts quickly. I will be fully committed to the program that embraces me as a student-athlete.
A program that will allow me to grow as a player and as a leader is preferred. I want to go where I am needed and wanted. I want to help a team to compete at the highest level. Academically, I am interested in Zoology, but I am open to other options. I cannot think of anything that I want more than the opportunity to play at the next level. The program that commits its resources to me will not be disappointed! Thank you for your time and consideration.
