De’Micheal Warner '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is De’Micheal Warner, A rising student and athlete of the 2025 class. I believe what makes me stand out from other recruits is the fact that I persevere through any obstacle that comes my way and my grades can prove it. What makes me different is the fact that I was forced to as I didn’t have the resources necessary growing up to make me feel “normal” like my peers. I never had nice clothes or nice shoes, not to mention necessity items like toothbrushes to even have decent hygiene. I didn’t have much food to eat and there were some days where I couldn’t eat at all, so it allowed me to be humble because I know what it’s like to not have much. But, something I had growing that those around me didn’t have was the work ethic and discipline to do what I need to do even though I didn’t have what others did because I never cared. I stayed to myself and did what I thought was best for my situation which was to stay in the books, because education will take you somewhere and I was aware of that.

Now, for my goals through college I want to shock the world honestly. I want to go to an elite school with some of the best programs available because I made a promise to myself that I wanted to be great though I came from nothing. I’m an active competitor, even with myself, so I want to show everyone including me that coming from nothing does not mean a thing. If I want to be great, then greatness is what I’m going to strive for; it doesn’t matter my background I just need to continue moving forward. If someone like me, who didn’t have anything besides a roof over their head growing up can achieve greatness, then why can‘t the next person?
