Personal Statement

My ultimate dream is to play basketball at the professional level, whether it be in the NBA or overseas.  I love the game of basketball and I want to be around it no matter what!  I have worked hard to earn a scholarship so that I can find the college & basketball program that will help me improve my skills, intellect and grow as a man.  I will be an asset to that program because I know I was anointed to do this and will not let anything or anyone stop me from my dream.  Since my freshman year, I have trained at 5 AM every morning (including school days) to work on my skills and body so that I can be the best. I have sacrificed many things socially so that I can achieve my dream.  My sophomore year, I broke my ankle the 2nd game of the season and again 4 months later (during AAU). I did not let it stop me. I worked through the injury both times, including working out in chairs because I was determined to make it back.  It has been less than a year since the surgery and I am getting stronger everyday. My confidence is soaring, my quickness has returned, and my ball handling and shot improved because it was all i could do while healing.  I have had a strong spring/summer with my AAU and HS teams, and I am looking to explode my senior year.

I am the son of two teachers so academics and knowledge are important to me.  I want to earn a degree in sports management or broadcasting so that I will always be involved in the game of basketball in some capacity.  I have a 3.8 gpa and I am ranked 7th in my graduating class. I want the college that signs me to know they are getting the total package.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
