My goal is to be a key player on my college basketball team. What makes me different from other recruits is that I outwork every other player--in games, in practice, and in individual training. I took the initiative to get my body college ready during the off-season. Since my school doesn't have a weight room, I designed my own strength and nutrition program, gaining 30 pounds of lean muscle and developing my strength, stamina, and skills. As a result, I improved my FTA 14 percentage points, doubled my BPG, and increased my vertical so I can out-rebound taller players. On my high school team, I expanded my role to combo guard this year, averaging 5.4 RPG, 2.9 APG, and 17.8 PPG while playing point guard (25.5 PPG while playing shooting guard). I consistently score from different areas on the floor, I am lethal driving to the basket, and I hit contested jumpers from the perimeter. I love to earn assists by hitting my teammates with great passes. I am a strong defensive player due to my athleticism, quickness, and wingspan. Two achievements this year were breaking my high school's scoring record (1,302 career points and counting) and achieving double-double and triple-double games. Although I lost my father to a fatal accident two years ago, he taught me the value of hard work on our farm. I plan to earn a degree in business management and use what I learn to expand and improve our family farm operation. As a teacher’s kid, I was raised to value education: I have a 3.5 GPA and take CCP classes. Even though I attend a small Division IV high school, I have played against some great DI and D2 teams. My coaches and teammates love my upbeat attitude and sense of humor. I have experienced adversity, and I am resilient enough to overcome any challenge. I have what it takes to be part of a successful college basketball team.
