Nikolas Echelmeyer '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nikolas Echelmeyer and I am 6'8" 210 pound Power Forward who has the skill, drive, and determination to play at the next level. I work hard to excel both in the classroom and on the court. I have played both the Center and Power Forward positions, so I am comfortable scoring both under the basket and on the perimeter. I can also consistently guard positions 3 through 5. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I missed an entire year of basketball, including the spring AAU season during 8th grade and my entire school season during my freshman year. As a result, I had to work independently to maintain and improve my skills. This was one of the toughest challenges I ever faced. I managed to come back my sophomore year to compete on the varsity team and assisted the team in winning the Northern Lakes League and District Championships. One of the things that separates me from other players in my position is my versatility. I am able to see the floor well and use my long wing span and strength to defend players who are much bigger and taller than me.
