I have loved the game of basketball since the tender age of six when I realized how to dribble a ball. I was very fortunate to have a father who took the time to teach me the game. While teaching me the fundamental elements of the sport, my dad also instilled in me values that have and will continue to influence and mold me for the rest of my life. My father passed away in February of 2016 and I have had to utilize the life lessons my father taught me. Lessons on good sportsmanship, leadership, knowing your strengths and weakness, sacrifice and discipline. One thing my father said that I will always remember is " nothing in life comes easy, you must work hard to get where you want to be".
My goals and aspiration upon completion of high school is to attend college and play collegiate basketball. Ultimately, I plan to obtain a degree in Sports Physical Therapy. To achieve this goal, I work hard on the court and even harder in the classroom. I currently have a 3.0 GPA. I believe my work ethic, athletic skills, self control and determination make me a good fit for your program. Through my hard work and plenty of practice, I have become proficient at shooting the ball and playing defense. I have the ability to lead, but also know the importance of being lead by others who share similar values and are working toward the same goals. I have become a leader not only on the court but in my community and my home. I love God and I live by my mother's motto, " do it afraid! Don't let your past failure leave you hopeless about your future success".
I know I can be an asset to your program if given the opportunity. Thank you for your consideration.
